Volleyball is often described as a "game of constant motion." Unlike many other sports, you can’t catch or hold the ball; it must always be in flight. For beginners, the learning curve can feel steep, but once you master the "Big Three" moves, you’ll be ready for any rally.

The Power of Three: Pass, Set, Spike

In a standard rally, a team has three hits to send the ball over the net. The most effective way to use them is the classic sequence:

  1. The Pass (Bump): Usually the first contact. You use your forearms to create a "platform" to bounce the ball toward the setter. Keep your elbows locked and use your legs—not your arms—to guide the ball.

  3. The Spike (Attack): The final, aggressive hit. A player jumps and swings their arm to drive the ball downward into the opponent's court.

Quick Rules to Remember

  • 6 vs. 6: Standard indoor games feature six players per side.

  • Rotation: Every time your team wins the serve back, players must rotate one position clockwise.
